Cob mixingCob is a mixture of clay, sand, and straw that, when mixed, makes a natural concrete similar to adobe. In this workshop students will learn the fundamentals of mixing cob, make their own batch of cob, and apply the mixture to remolding some features in a Fairfield character house. For those interested in making cob in the city, this will also be instructional as to where materials can be gathered in an urban setting.

Instructor Bio:
Matthew Cook studied natural building at OUR Ecovillage in Shawnigan Lake, and has worked on numerous cob projects over the past 5 years.
