Learn about the history of fermentation, its health benefits and the potential significance of ferments when faced with a lack of conventional food storage facilities. Participants will have the opportunity to taste and discuss a variety of pre-prepared ferments, and will learn how to prepare kraut, kimchi and kombucha. Each participant will take home a jar of kimchi to call their own.

Instructor Bio:
Gabrielle is host to a bunch of friendly bacteria who are grateful that she took a shining to home fermentation. They weren’t so hot on the home brew, but they can’t get enough yogurt and kimchi. When Gabrielle isn’t feeding the billions of micro-organisms that live inside her, she can be found studying herbal medicine, dreaming of the desert and trying to bring back crop tops.
