Is EVERYTHING a machine, simple or complex?
We’ll explore the permutations and perplexities of MACHINES throughout February, March and April in a trans-disciplinary and super-charged series of lectures, skillshares and field trips.
Here’s what’s on this week at The Wayward School:

The Year is New, and So Are We
Many things were incubating here at Wayward as 2011 drew to a close. Ideas, yes, but people too. Our number has increased 7-fold: What started as just two co-directors has now proliferated into 14+ collective members, working together to plot a course for our next season of programming, launching February 15th of this year! The theme you might ask? MACHINES… we’ll explore them upside-down and sideways, literally and metaphorically, with words and actions.
On Friday February 10th, we hosted a Contra Dance, which was a smashing success! The night was full of hootin’, hollerin’, and even a bit of dancing. With the help of our friends and supporters we were able to raise money for this upcoming season of programming, so thank you to everyone who came out! Special thanks to St. Barnabas Church, Ross McCauley, and Rig-a-Jig, and to our sponsors: Spinnakers Brewery, Russell Books, Legends Comics, Bubby Rose’s Bakery, Beehive Wool Shop, The Village Butcher, Charmaine’s Past and Present, Cinecenta, Shine Cafe, and Mavens Vintage Clothing.
